DNA Fragmentation Test
A DNA Fragmentation Test provides important information about the quality of sperm DNA, which cannot be seen in a standard semen analysis. High levels of DNA damage in sperm can affect fertilisation, embryo development and pregnancy outcomes. Through our partner clinic BMP Fertility, you can access advanced male fertility testing to better understand your reproductive options.

What Is DNA Fragmentation Test in Sperm?
DNA fragmentation refers to breaks or damage in the genetic material inside a sperm cell. Even men with normal sperm count, motility or morphology may still have elevated DNA fragmentation.
This test gives a more complete picture of male fertility, helping identify factors that may affect the success of IVF, ICSI or natural conception.
This test may be recommended for:
-
Couples with recurrent IVF or ICSI failure
-
Unexplained infertility
-
Men over 40 years of age
-
Couples experiencing recurrent miscarriage
-
Men exposed to smoking, stress, heat, toxins or varicocele
-
Cases where embryo development has been unexpectedly poor in previous cycles
A fertility specialist will help determine whether DNA fragmentation testing is suitable based on your history and test results.
